Current Traineeships

Would you like to start a career in Legal? Do you have an interest  in Legal and want to get into a Law firm and start your legal career – whilst gaining a nationally-recognised legal qualification during work hours and at the firm’s cost?

The roles: 
We regularly have new Legal Traineeship roles within the CBD and the suburbs.  Traineeships are fantastic opportunities to secure interesting, varied roles, as part of great friendly, professional teams within some of Australia’s best know and regarded law firms.  Areas of law include:

  • Litigation and Dispute Resolution
  • Company Law
  • Employment Law
  • Personal Injuries and WorkCover claims
  • Property Law and Conveyancing


How the Traineeship works:
Under the Traineeship, you will be employed by the Law Firm as a Trainee and gain valuable skills and work experience, whilst at the same time studying for a Nationally recognised accredited qualification, the Certificate III in Business Administration (Legal) during allocated time each week at work – and paid for in full by the law firm itself!


To be suited for this Traineeship, you will have an interest in working in Legal, as well as a strong desire to gain a Nationally-Recognised Legal qualification in an administrative/secretarial position. In addition, you will meet the following requirements:

  • Able to commit to a Traineeship.
  • Successfully completed VCE and hold a qualification no higher than Certificate II in any field of study (unless you completed a Certificate III course before you were 20 years of age).
  • Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident or New Zealand Citizen residing in Australia for over 6 months.
  • Accurate typing and Microsoft Word skills.
  • Good spelling and grammar.
  • Able to speak with clients and others in a clear, friendly, professional and confident manner.
  • Be hardworking, enthusiastic and reliable.
Certificate IV In Legal Services

Examples of some of the tasks you may undertake with the Law Firm in your Traineeship include:

  • Typing and putting together legal documents, letters, emails etc.
  • Photocopying, collating and binding legal documents.
  • Arranging meetings and sending online calendar invites.
  • Entering accurate information on systems.
  • Helping with answering calls and speaking with clients and many other parties.
