How the Traineeship works

You’ll be employed by a Law Firm as a Trainee, gaining valuable skills and experience as you work, whilst also studying in work hours for a nationally-recognised accredited qualification, the Certificate III in Legal Services or Certificate IV in Legal Services – and paid for in full by the law firm.

Requirements

To qualify, you’ll have an interest in Legal and be keen to gain a nationally-recognised, accredited legal qualification, as well as:

  • Be available Monday to Friday during standard office hours.

  • Be an Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident or New Zealand Citizen residing in Australia for over 6 months.

  • Have accurate typing, Microsoft Word and good spelling and grammar.

  • Be able to speak with clients etc in a clear, professional, confident manner.

  • Be hardworking, enthusiastic and reliable.

Duties

Examples of some of the tasks you may carry out in your traineeship with the law firm:

  • Typing and putting together legal documents, letters, emails etc.

  • Photocopying, collating and binding legal documents.

  • Arranging meetings and sending online calendar invites.

  • Entering accurate information on systems.

  • Helping with answering calls and speaking with clients and many other parties.
